Distribution:
World-wide distribution, common in temperate regions, particularly on dead plants, but less common than C. herbarum and C. cladosporioides.
Substrate:
Isolated from soil, seed of cereals, feathers of free-living birds (From Samson et al., 2000)
Indoor Occurance:
Found in indoor environments, but not common.
Notes On Identification:
Not distinctive on spore trap samples. Can be identified on surface sample if sporulating structure present.
