This fungus is associated with low humidity and dry areas. It is found both indoors and in food.
Substrate:
Found in soil and dry food.

Conidia or chains of conidia easily become airborne and are dispersed by wind.
Indoor Occurance:
Isolated from floor, carpet and mattress dust. Also isolated from indoor air conditioning systems and food products like dried fish and cereals.
