Distributed in soils of tropical and warm temperate areas,

Substrate:

Common in soil , creals and groundnuts.

Indoor Occurance:

Often isolated from house dust and other materials in indoor environment.

Secondary Metabolite:

Some produced metabolites include austramide, austidiol, austins, and austocystins.

Notes On Identification:

Not distinctive on spore trap samples. Genus can be identified on surface or bulk samples if the entire sporulating structure is present. Species identification requires mycological examination of aporulating cultures or molecular methods.
