Conidia or chains of conidia easily become airborne and are dispersed by wind.
Indoor Occurance: 
Occurs primarily in association with building materials, carpet and mattress dust, HVAC filter, fabric etc. It is also found as a contaminant in wheat flour, cereals and bakeries.
Pathogenicity: 
May be an inhalation hazard, hazard related to barrier break eg., corneal perforation, no known as dermal innoculation hazard.
Secondary Metabolite: 
Produces ochratoxin
Notes On Identification: 
Not distinctive on spore trap samples. Genus can be identified on surface or bulk samples if the entire sporulating structure is present. Species identification requires mycological examination of aporulating cultures or molecular methods.
